What is Girls Rock Michiana?
Girls Rock Michiana, a new venture of The Music Village, is a two-and-a-half day summer camp for girls entering grades 4-8. This day camp experience aims to improve girls’ creativity, confidence, and collaboration through musical engagement. Campers will work in small groups with professional music instructors to learn rock instruments and basic performance skills. Our goal is to provide a judgement free zone for your daughter to make new friends, explore music and have fun!
The Music Village instructors and other local musicians will provide guidance, mentoring, and instruction throughout the camp. Special guest speakers and workshops will provide a forum for creative expression and thoughtful discussion about the portrayal of girls and women in the media, healthy self-expression, setting boundaries and building confidence.

The 2020 camp will be held Thursday and Friday, July 23 & 24, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, with a final performance showcase on Saturday, July 25. We encourage family members to join us Saturday at 12pm (noon) for a pizza party and “rock concert” experience with campers demonstrating their growing confidence and music skills.
Camp will be held at The Music Village, 333 S. Michigan Street
Registration for the 2-and-a-half-day camp is $100. Lunch and snacks will be provided both days, with a pizza party and concert experience on Saturday afternoon. Registration is required, and will be limited to 30 girls. Scholarships are available and no participant will be turned away due to financial hardship.
